The Book is Out!!!

4/17/18

It's here!  It's here!
I wrote a book and it's here!
Check you local bookstore!!
Or, you can still find it on Amazon and Barnes and Noble...
(and I've always wanted to say this phrase)
"...or wherever books are sold!"

For a sneak peek, check out these videos.  I talk about the book, and I make some recipes from my favorite chapters... It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere and Sweet Treats (obviously).

This process has been an insane, emotional journey and I'm full of gratitude for everyone that worked so hard to help make it happen... including YOU.  You are my favorite :)

SD on TODAY

7/1/13

Thanks for the nice comments on my SECOND (what?!) Today Show appearance.  It's such a fun, surreal experience to be a tiny part of a show I've watched since I was a kid.  For your informations, I wasn't trying to scold Mr. Roker for touching the bacon.  Would I ever scold anyone for touching bacon???  No, I was yelling at Carson who was touching the hot pan with his fingers, and they just happened to zoom in on Al at the same moment.  Oh, the silly magic of television.

In case you missed the segment, you can view it here (and my first appearance here).

We are back from NY, we are back from DC, and I will try to cook something ASAP.

Today

3/27/13

I'm blogging from my cellular device, therefore please forgive my silly iPhone (talking to you Siri) for any random auto correction.  I wanted to quickly thank you for watching THE TODAY SHOW THIS MORNING!?  Did that actually just happen?  Here are some things I learned...

1. Hair/make-up stylists are magical people.  My baby woke up eleventy times last night, and you can barely see my raccoon eye rings.

2. Food stylists are also magical.  I want that job in my next life.

3. Did I welcome Al to his own talk show?

4. Everyone there is lovely - beyond nice and helpful and I didn't want to leave.

5. That's sort of a lie, I could use a nap.

6. I love you people.

(7. Sweater from J Crew)

8. Wow...

15 Minutes

1/3/12

Listen guys, I know I've been slacking.  I've been gone for almost 2 weeks and haven't cooked a thing in that time.  I went to the market yesterday and wandered around aimlessly like I had forgotten how to food shop.  What's this cart thing?  Why are all these people here? WHERE ARE THE DONUTS?!  Last night I cooked dinner that took me 3 hours to make.  How do I chop?  Where do I keep the strainer again?  WHERE ARE THE DONUTS?

What I'm trying to convey here is I'm a mess and need direction.  What do you want me to cook?

This is unrelated to my whining rant, but you must see this.  Myself AND the blog made a special appearance on the local NBC news station in my hometown of Eagan, Minnesota.

I don't know who that woman is, but I want to know her.  I want her to replace every, single female news anchor in Los Angeles.

Merry Christmas

Homemade Butter Video

10/9/11

Hey dudes, Brother Dylan here!  I really wanted toast this morning and didn't have any butter, so I decided to take a break from booze for a second and make my own.  I never realized how easy it is until I tried it.  2 1/2 cups of heavy cream and 1 cup of all natural (apparently that's important) sour cream.  Thanks Alex Guarneschelli, or however you spell your last name.  Enjoy the video...

Taco Bell

10/12/10

Have you seen this commercial?

OH, THAT'S MY BROTHER!!!!!!

No, I'm not related to a New York Yankee (although in my dreams I am). He's the dude in the green shirt who can't finish his Chalupa. THAT'S MY KID BROTHER!!!!! MINE!!!!!!!!

As you can see, I'm very excited about this.

Real Women of Philadelphia

5/5/10

No, it's not a new reality show about the trashy wives of Eagles' players. (No offense to those actual wives, I'm sure they're not trashy.) It's a cooking competition, of sorts. Check it out... Real Women of Philadelphia

I love Paula Deen. The woman radiates warmth and sunshine, and I've never even met her. She cooks with love (and that means with butter) and I have this theory that she gives great bear hugs.

*If you join this site and search real hard, you might even stumble upon a video I made in the Side Dish category. Tee hee hee : )

DOH-WHEN-TUH!

3/30/10

Another glimpse into my kitchen. Only that's not my kitchen. And this was shot 4 years ago. And I don't really talk like that.

Well, I did when I was 7.

What Would Ina Do?

3/26/10

I am about to show you something I might regret.

Yesterday, I found a flash drive with all of this missing stuff. Pictures, resumes, my old working-woman files, and... embarrassing videos. No, not those kind of videos! You're sick. No, once upon a time, I wanted to be on the Food Network. My sister decided to help me make this dream come true. This was our attempt. This is why I am a Food Blogger, and not a Food Network Star.
