Parmesan and Garlic Lavash

8/22/13

Carson's mom, the woman behind this fried chicken, makes a lot of delicious things.  Most recently, this super easy appetizer that you will hover around like a creep until it's gone in your belly and your belly alone.  Seriously, if you're in charge of an appetizer at a party, assemble this and pop it in the oven when you get there and watch the madness ensue.  5 ingredients: lavash, olive oil, garlic, Parmesan and basil.  Soak the chopped garlic in some olive oil...

...spread it on some lavash (which can be found at most grocery stores)...

...sprinkle the top with Parmesan and fresh basil...

...and bake it at 350 for 10 minutes or so (keeping an eye on it) until it gets all golden and crispy.  Break it apart into pieces, or just eat the whole sheet on your own.

I love the toppings spread edge to edge! This would be amazing with some fresh tomato soup.

Just wanted to let you know that I've made this three times since you posted it! First time I couldn't find Lavash so I used some other type of "crust" (too thick) but then I found it! Heaven. P.S. I'll probably make it again tomorrow because there's one more piece of lavash left! (Oh, and I think some bacon is in my future too!) That Carson is one lucky guy!

how much garlic are we talking? the pic looks like a mountain of it...

Gina, she uses the pre-chopped garlic in a jar, which is not as potent as the fresh stuff. I would use a few cloves or a few tablespoons of the jarred stuff.
