Vanilla Glazed Carrots

3/8/11

"Tired" is not a word for parents. "Exhausted" doesn't even make sense. I'm going to make up a new word. "Fuzzblershhh." I think that about sums it up. Last night was one for the record books. I haven't been feeling very well, and my codeine-laced sleep was interrupted at 4am by the automated British woman who lives inside our security alarm shouting, "FIRE. DETECTED. HALLWAY. FIRE!" She is a bloody liar. There was no fire. But our alarm wouldn't turn off, and while Carson dealt with mean, unhelpful phone people, I tried desperately to get our son to fall back asleep. No such luck. Fuzzzzblershhhhh (you're allowed to add more z's and h's if you're REALLY tired).

Ok so the carrots. (You guys really need to tell me to shut up and get back to the food.) I found this recipe on the back of my baby carrot bag. It, was, delicious!!! And so simple... a little honey, a little butter, a little vanilla, a little salt. If you are a fan of salty and sweet, which carrots THRIVE at, then you will love this.

That sounds pretty darn good. Sorry you had a lousy night, someone needs to smack the liar who said there was a fire in your house!
