Cookbook Week

10/21/10

I've decided to devote and entire week to my lonesome cookbooks. Perhaps next week? Each day, I will make something new from the following five...

1. Martha Stewart's Baking Handbook
2. Mad Hungry, Feeding Men & Boys, by Lucinda Scala Quinn
3. Mastering the Art of French Cooking, by Julia Child
4. Cook's Illustrated's The Complete Book of Pasta and Noodles
5. Tyler's Ultimate

I chose those as a beginning, but since I have many more cookbooks, this might become a reoccurring series.

What are your favorite cookbooks?

You know, I have cookbooks but I've not gotten into them yet. Oddly, I have been getting more creative with cooking lately but I've referenced recipes I've torn out of magazines. There's something intimidating about my cookbooks. Like if I screw a recipe up it's gonna tell all the other one's and then they'll roll their eyes when I flip to their page and attempt making them. Don't worry though I'll get to them. Thanks for the hot tip on the meatball soups! I will for sure try them out and let you know how it went. Thanks Siri:)

That is so funny that you are doing cookbooks......because I was just thinking to my self(of course)that it would be fun to trade cookbooks for a week. Maybe???

I did a very similar thing a few months ago and started a blog about it. In order to get out of my cooking rut (making the same things every week) I'm cooking through my 2 favorite cookbooks (Martha Stewarts Everyday Food)...never to repeat a recipe until they are all done...500 of them! I've done 150 so far and its been quite the experience. Here's the link, just in case your interested ;)
