FAQ

Are you obese?

I don't think so. Look, I know I bake a lot. But usually, I do so for someone else. Like a friend, or my fiance's co-workers, or the plumber. Seriously, there is no one that doesn't deserve a baked good in my mind. Except for maybe serial killers.

Since when have you been such a foodie?  Did you know that's what you wanted to do when you were younger?

Well, my brother and sister and I used to take our camcorder and record each other making scrambled eggs.  So, yes, food has always been a big part of my life.  Our family reunions revolve around meals.

How do you cook with a toddler at your feet?

My fiancé loves food as much as me, and so far, I think he enjoys my cooking.  Therefore, he happily entertains the little ones while I cook.  I also take advantage of naptime and prep what I can.  But I'm not going to lie to you, if my fiancé isn't home, I sometimes plop my kids in front of the TV and put on Disney Jr.  What.

Would you ever consider writing a book?

Why, sure I would!  Who wants to pay me to do that?

Feel free to ask more in the comment section below and I'll gladly answer.

Hello, Siri! Just found you on Dorot's FB page. Each Dorot product I have tried is WONDERFUL - the ginger, the cilantro, basil, and garlic. Unfortunately, I discovered them in my grocer's CLEARANCE sale. :( I was amazed at the ginger and the garlic. Didn't EVEN have to bring out the grater! Enjoy!

I found your food blog from a People article about Carson becoming a daddy again. So congratulations! I want to bake everything in your 'non nutritious' section because everything looks so good. YUM! Thank you :D

I also found your blog because of a people article...I have began baking and find it to be very soothing. I am a teacher so most of my baked goods end up going to my students as "good job" incentives and to my son's babysitter....I am looking forward to trying your recipes.

I just found your blog after Carson and Rachael Ray mentioned it while cooking on her show this morning. I will be a regular visitor. Looks like fun.

I also watch Rachael Ray and heard about your blog. I am born and raised in Illinois so us Midwesterners have to stick together. My best friends parents have a cabin around Int'l Falls, I love it up there. I must try your snicker doodle chocolate chip cookies, they sound and look YUMMY. My question is would you ever write a book or do you have very many children's recipes?

What type of chocolate chips do you use? I like the flatter look they have and they seem more gooey.

Congrats on the new baby girl!

Siri,

Hi! I have been following your site for a while now. I absolutely love it. I've made a few of your recipes. My family and I just moved to California. I live in Redondo Beach. Not that it really matters but I also have a new site and it's www.mybohemianmommy.com. I would love to interview you sometime for my blog. Take a look at it. As I said I'm just beginning. I also partnered with some other amazing bloggers and we are having an Ultimate Homemaking Ebook Sale that I think you would like. The info is under Homemaking. Hope that's not too much! Alicia

Siri, I really enjoy reading your blog. Makes me smile and giggle out loud; making our dogs wonder why the heck is she laughing at?

Watched the Taco Tuesday segment on TODAY. Enjoyed it especially the easy margaritas. What do you and Carson consider good tequila? He mentioned an anejo...is there a brand that you recommend?

Unknown said...

Do you have a Facebook? So I can see these recipes easier? Thank you :)

I watch your segment with Rachael Ray and loved everything you had to to share and in fact immediately went to your blog and added to my home page!
I have a question regarding the mini pies in mason lids. Do you think if I used rings for both upper and bottom crust nstead of ring/lid that would allow extra dough to create an actual edge around the pie and create a design along the edge? BTW...London Rose is truly gorgeous!!! Congrats to you and Carson 💍💒💐🍼

Hi Siri! Congrats on the wedding and your sweet little family:) I just got married in June on our lovely little farmhouse in Minnesota...nice to hear your from our great state! Between my husband and I we have five children...a mini soccer team I know:) I also work full time as a designer and I love love love to cook. However, time is limited as the kids range in ages 9-16 and everyone has various activities and sports they must be at after school. So do you have any easy/kid friendly recipes you'd recommend? Three of our girls love to cook so they could easily create easy dishes for the family before the adults get home. Many thanks and good luck to you guys!
