brown butter brown sugar shorties
Browning butter is a magical thing. Tinkerbell, romance and Houdini kind of magic. The kind that sends goose-pimples down your spine or in this case, your throat. Browning pushes the butter into this nutty, caramelized, sugary world. It's just fantastic. So whenever I see the words paired together in a recipe, I pounce. Like a panther, attacking her buttery prey.

butter, beginning to brown...
browned butter that has chilled...
mixed with brown sugar, vanilla, flour and salt...
rolled into a log and chilled...
chilled log, rolled into sanding sugar (green for an upcoming holiday? sure)...
cut into pieces...
baked...
