Super finely sliced raw asparagus? Yes please. But that would mean I would need a Mandolin. Anyone own one? Should I buy one? Do you use it? Are they worth it? Will I cut my finger off like my sister nearly did one Thanksgiving?
I LOVE mine! Just don't get so excited when you get it in the mail that you start using it without the finger guard and then slice the tip of your finger off like I did...luckily it was set on the thinly slice setting!
I want a mandolin. I used my parents a few weeks ago and it's amazing. In this case, a vegetable peeler would work, though. That's what Sean uses when he makes salads like this (with cucumbers or other vegetables).

ReplyDeleteI also say yes to the mandoline. My Mom still warns me every other day about slicing my fingers, so I'm pretty cautious. :)
