Vote, or else.

Before that "Dye-Everything-Like-Entire-Rivers-Green Holiday" I was talking about the other day, there is another festive occasion I need to celebrate and that is... my son's 2nd birthday. I know, I don't understand either. It's thrilling, of course, but at the same time I want to swaddle him up in a blanket and take him back to the hospital and ask Oksana the Scary Nurse to let us stay because he's ONLY A NEWBORN!!!

But he's not, he's two, so let's move on to his birthday cake. I need your help. Sort of. I sort of already know what I'm going to do but I want your help anyway.

Train Cake

Brobee Cake

He's obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine. And he's obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba. Hmm... what's a mother-who-let's-her-son-watch-too-much-TV to do...

  1. OOh that's a tough call!! The train cake pan has intrigued me ever since I saw it the first time, and I have a girl who could care less about Thomas LOL! Then again Broby is awesome...ooh will you dress like DJ Lance Rock if you do a Broby cake??? mmm if there's a chance of you in costumery I vote for Yo Gabba Gabba :) You could always ride in on a mini bike like Jack Black :) Ok I let my kid watch too much TV too :)

  2. If I were making it for my young son, I would go with the green and black blob...mostly because it would be the only thing I'd be capable of doing...and I'd trust that his memory bank would quickly fill in so that there would be no memory of said birthday cake by the time he was four...

  3. Could you do the Broby cake but then make really cute iced Thomas cookies for the goody bag? Just a thought...

  4. I, personally, would make the Brobee cake since I can't cook or bake worth sh@#! lol...BUT, since it's you we're talking about...I would say go for the more challenging train cake! For my son's 2nd birthday I got a store bought cake and made race car pretzel pops. They were SUPER cute and way easier and more more to me than a cake :D

  5. I love the trains! BUT..at 2, he might appreciate the blob and all of its bright color. I think I still go with the Brobee! Can't wait to see what you decide!

  10. I vote for the train. But Yo Gabba Gabba creeps me out, so that could have something to do with it.

  11. BOTH, make Brobee riding on a train. Just teasing. If I were two I'd want Brobee. FUN! :)

I wonder - would receiving any of these cakes and then eating any of these cakes be emotionally destructive?

  13. Thanks for your votes, my friends. I should tell you - the train cake is much easier than it looks. All I'd have to do is bake it in a molded pan and then decorate it. The Brobee cake involves a LOT of stuff, which is intriguing me...

    We'll see : )
