Maternity Salad

There is a restaurant in Studio City called Caioti Pizza Cafe.  On their menu, they have something called "THE" Salad, also known as the Maternity Salad.  Apparently, pregnant women flock there everyday to eat this famous dish that is supposed to induce labor.  The ingredients are basic: romaine, watercress, gorgonzola, walnuts AND their super secret special dressing that you can purchase online.  It's the dressing that apparently does the trick.  They claim it's made from natural ingredients, but if it truly does "work" I'm going to guess it's either laced with castor oil or pitocin.

And I'm going to eat it.  Tomorrow.  On the radio.

On AMP Radio, and if you care to listen, click that link tomorrow morning around 8:05am PST and you can check out the live stream.

Let's get this baby out of here, friends.  All together now.

  3. Ha-ha! I Love your sense of humor, Siri!

My Bride and I finally found a really easy way to deal with babies, pregnancy, and the delivery process.

We simply got OLD! Now we just sit back and peacefully watch as GrandKids "pop out" with no effort at all on our part. :-)

Hope all goes smoothly and you have a HAPPY and HEALTHY 2nd child.

We'll be thinking good thoughts for all of you.

I really love your blog, and I appreciate that you post so frequently! I also enjoy the close-up shots of the food. But most of all, I've recently found myself getting excited for your impeding new arrival and checking back several times a day (but not in a weird bloggy stalker way, trust me)! My son was due September 3rd (eight years ago) and I remember trying E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G to make it happen sooner. Same thing, two years later with my daughter. But to no avail. Nothing other than the passage of time worked. However, there is no "THE" salad where I live, so maybe you'll luck out. Best of luck to you!

To induce my twin pregnancy I did the castor oil thing and drank copious amounts of raspberry leaf tea.

Did something as it made me turn yellow, itchy as all heck and my kidneys shut down. But heh, guaranteed me a next day delivery! 2.5 hours later I had my gorgeous twin girls :)

(Sorry if this sounds evil but worked for me. Babies came 3 weeks early and at a beautiful 6.9 lbs and 5.7 lbs. Suffering from Twin Transfusion Syndrome with one twin bigger and bloated with blood while the other pale as ghost, smaller and blood deprived.)

I do not regret it my actions for a moment. In fact could have saved Olivia's life because of it.

Caulophyllum (homeopathic) induced labour with my second. That and sex. I was in labour within 6 hours of the caulophyllum and 2 hours (or less) after sex. :) Best wishes!
